Safe tree work starts before the first cut and continues until the truck is parked back at the yard. A loaded chip truck, a bucket truck, and a pickup towing a chipper each need different space and handling. Your job is to recognize those differences and act early enough to keep a routine trip from becoming an emergency.
Throughout the course, use five questions: Am I ready? Is the vehicle ready? Is the load ready? Is the route ready? Are the conditions safe? If any answer is uncertain, stop and resolve it with your supervisor before proceeding.
Follow the law where you operate, your company procedures, and the vehicle and equipment manufacturer’s instructions. Your employer must identify which commercial-vehicle requirements apply to your assignment. Course completion does not replace licensing, equipment training, or a supervised driving evaluation.
